Daniel Austin Sr. was in Miller County for the 1840 census with a family of 10. We lose track of the Austin Family until the late 1860s. I believe the came from Vermont and probably had Union sympathies. I think they returned there for the duration of the Civil War and then returned. The first record of this is the marriage of Ellen to Ruben. The second is the 1870 census, when Daniel Jr. showed up. Ellen M. Austin married Ruben H.
