According to Dr. Kings "History of Maried County", the first Bell of record was William Bell, who entered land known as the Ramsey Place, in Feb. 11, 1832 and again in 1838. Daniel Bell appeared on "Lanes Praire" in 1834. He entered land on the Johnson Settlement. He later sold this land and moved to the land previously owned by William. It is believe William & Daniel were brothers, most certainly related somehow. Daniel married Elizabeth Ridenhour. They had a least 9 descendants: Lucinda, Ann Eliza, Elizabeth, Nancy, Sarah, Martha, James M., Peter, and George W. Bell. George W. Bell is the best known and most descendants with the name Bell come from him. He married Roena Prewett. They had 5 sons: James M., C. C., John, William R., and Richard T. Bell. They had six daughters: Louisa J., Mary R., Josephine, Allegerene, Melvina, and Dora E. Bell. They moved to Shannon County. Minna Bell married Sam Campbell, 7/4/1880. Martha E. Bell married James Gipson, 8/27/1889. I am not researching the Bell name.
