If the 1870 census information is different than the other census, disregard the 1870. It was the first census after the War and it is inaccurate.
In the 1840 census we had three Brockman families in Miller County.
One was Sims Brockman who was on page 4 of the census. He was here in a family of 1 male and 3 females. Sims and his wife were in their 20s. The two little girls were 0 to 5 months. Sounds like twins. This man married Rachel Gartin, 2/26/1837. They are listed as the first marriage, No. 1. Miller County did not become a county until 1837.

Puzzle: Perlina (Paulina?) Dobbins(Dodson?) married James Brown, 4/9/1848. Could she be Zelphia Dodson's sister? Could she be the Paulina Brown that married John E. Brockman 8 years later? A John Brockman was living with a Brown family in the 1850 census. If this is Paulina Dobbins (Brown) (Brockman), and she had children by James Brown, Rebecca and Calloway would be the right age here in the 1860 census:
