DILL FAMILY:
|
John Dill was a prominent land owner on the Little Maries River in the Brinktown Area west of Vienna. He was probably the first Dill in Maries County. Indications are that he is the Pariarch of all the Dills in Maries County. It is believed he came from Tennessee. The Dills on record here say their parents were from Tennessee. Some of the Dills may have settled over in Phelps County. Dry Creek Township borders Maries County and parts of Maries County used to be Phelps County. 1880 census: Phelps County John Dill age 22 (Tn) both Parents (Tn) Emily age 17 (Mo) John Dill married Emily Clayton, 8/8/1879.
