Gosvenor age 18 (Niece) Story Time: My dad knew the Wickhams well and he tells about the time Belvey & John were in Iberia. The Wickhams of course are German and there was some animousity against the Germans during both World Wars. Picking a fight with the Wickhams was the easiest thing in the world to do. They had a big Landing built down on the Osage River where they lived. They floated logs down the river from there. They used to have big parties and dances on that Landing. Dad said they just invited people over to have someone to fight with. Well this particular time, a bunch of people had jumped on Belvey. John was up the street at a store. But he heard the commotion and came running down the street. John was a lot bigger than Belvey and when the culprits saw John a coming, one of them pulled out a gun and shot at John.
