John Humes Sr. was here in the 1840 census, but the records are incomplete. His wife was in her 70s, so we can assume John was close to that. William Humes is here in a family of 6. Sarah Humes (wife of John) is buried at the Taylor Family Cemetery, just West of Eldon Mo. 11/20/1824 to11/18/1890. 1870 census: (Saline Twp) Berry P. Humes age 26 (Mo) Martha (Kelsay) age 24 (Mo) Oliver C. age 3 months (Mo) 1870 census: (Equality Twp) Charles S. Humes age 10 (Mo) living with James & Eliza Harrison (Humes). Eliza Ann Humes married James P. Harrison, 9/6/1868. Obituary: Eliza Ann Humes Harrison, daughter of John and Sarah Humes, was born March 2, 1846 and died Dec. !934. She married James Pryor Harrison, Sept. 6, 1868. Children are Rosa, Vona, Toliver, Dell, Walter, Alice Simmons, and Chloe Hazlett. Mr. Harrison came from Texas. Burial Mt.
