It was a William Miller who played the biggest part in the creating and organization of what we call Miller County. William Miller married Sarah Mulkey, 8/21/1820. One of William's brothers, John Miller, became the 4th Governor of Missouri. There were three Miller's here in the 1840 census: Boyd, John and William. Boyd Miller Sr. was the first Miller of this lineage and he came to America, from Ireland, in the late 1700s. Boyd Jr., John, and William our main man, were his sons. There were a couple other MILLER families that were late comers and I could not tie them in. I tried to stay with the Boyd Miller line. Some of the marriage listings are not Boyd's line. Boyd Senior died in 1824, he is not in the Miller County census.
